Garden Decking
We supply long lengths of decking in both hardwood oak and durable larch.
Larch is an excellent more economical choice for landscaping and decking because it makes the grade when it comes to density and resin content.
Green oak is the obvious choice if you want top of the range hardwood with incredible durability. All woods can be oiled periodically to protect their original wood hue, but they will weather to a beautiful natural silvery grey colour over the years. We can also supply fixings for decking including handrails, base-rails, posts and spindles. We can also give you advice on installation or provide a full deck construction service.
Green Oak Cubes
Green oak cubes have many uses inside and outside. In the garden they serve as excellent seating or even as architectural items or plinths for your garden ornaments or planters. We can supply various sizes depending on the tree they are cut from. All cubes will age beautifully resulting in weathered changes such as small splits and augmented grain detail. They will also age to a stunning silvery grey and last an incredibly long time.
You can also use cubes inside. They will dry out a bit more quickly but look just as great.
Benches & Tables
Please note: We do not make furniture, but we do supply the best wood for it! To be honest we can supply accurately cut wood for almost any garden furniture. The market is flooded with imported pre-treated unsubstantial furniture made to last only a few years before needing to be replaced.
Our wood will help you create beautiful substantial durable green wood furniture which will be comfortable and attractive. From a rustic bench made from sleeper grade oak to a classical bench for an arbour, or a traditional picnic table that won’t swing sideways when you sit on only one side, to a bespoke outside dining table for 20, we can craft wood anything you like. Or if you are a keen hobbyist, then we can advise and supply the exact timber for your project.
Signs, Logs and other items
Sometimes you need something very specific indeed, for example a substancial frame for signage constructed in such a way as to emphasise quality, reliability and level or service, or you need posts to anchor a hammock or even a new window sill, shelf, kennel or well roof… you get the idea. We can advise on the appropriate timber, the construction options, size and finish, make the whole thing for you or simply supply high quality timber.
We also have a large quantity of seasoned chopped logs available for those long winter nights. Simply turn up, fill up and pay, or we can deliver set quantities to your door.
Gate posts, rustic posts & bollards
Gate posts
Here in Surrey at Honeysucklebottom we are experts in making substancial long lasting gate posts from green oak. We can also supply all the materials you need to make your own gate. Whatever materials you need to make a long lasting structure, we can help.
Rustic posts
We also supply a large range of rustic posts in various woods for various applications. Rustic posts are ideal for anything from a natural looking pergola, to a stay for a sun awning or washing line support. You can even use them buried and cut as borders or steps.
Bollards
For that natural and durable barrier between drive and garden use our range of bollards. We can supply many different sizes and finishes in a variety of woods to suit the look of your property.
Fencing (close board, picket, post & rail), arris rails & gravel boards
Close board fencing
Also known as featheredge, closeboard and featherboard fencing, we can supply in all components including arris rails and gravel boards in larch, douglas fir or western red cedar, or if you want something that will last for an extremely long time, oak. The pales are taper sawn and are cut to length to combine with a weatherboard at the base. End posts and middle posts are supplied as per your specification. A close board fence makes for a strong and secluded boundary to compliment any area. All our wood is cut green and so will weather over time. Please ask us for advice on changing the colour of our close board fence.
Picket fencing
Picket fencing is perfect if you don’t want to fully exclude an area, especially from daylight. The gaps in a picket fence allow for a light boundary in planted borders or delimiting areas, e.g. swimming pools, ponds or vegetable gardens. There are numerous styles of picket fence to choose from with various heights and widths. We can supply anything you need.
Post and rail fencing
A post and rail fence is an economical way to provide a boundary to fields or larger areas and is popular with the equestrian and agricultural sectors. We can supply square section posts and rails or round and half round sections depending on your requirements.
Pergolas
There is nothing like a well built pergola with matching beautiful plants growing up its uprights and across its runners. We can provide you with a full design and installation service for a stunning pergola in green oak or softwood.
Even though a pergola is a simple structure, we can make it look amazing by carefully crafted joints and touches that make it stand out from anything you will see in a garden centre. We can also supply your pergola in kit form for self construction or make your own creation to specification.
Oak Archways
Even though oak lasts for hundreds of years, sometimes we are asked to replace something for a church or other community project. Sometimes we are asked to simply replicate something beautiful and authentic using a blend of ancient and modern carpentry skills. If you would like a green oak archway, for any purpose and to almost any size, then get in touch.
Archways can have green oak shingle roofs, tiles or modern material alternatives. They can have bench seats or gates and be places to shelter, meet or simply pass through, but whichever way you use them, they will create a lasting impression.
Log-stores in green oak or softwood
In many ways, a logstore can have a similar structure to a small garden shed, a cabin, a leant to or even as big as a barn. However, it needs to be designed to keep the weather out, but let the air flow through the logs to season them ready for burning.
We can supply purpose built log stores in green oak or softwood to fit any sized garden and project. If you have a space just right, then we can design a bespoke log-store to fit into it. If you simply need the timber to make your own log-store, then we can do that too. We can guarantee that your log store will look great, even when it’s not full of logs!
Oak Arbours
There is a limit to what we can create in green oak. To be honest, that limit is only your imagination (or ours). We have created some really stunning structures made from green oak to withstand the worst that the weather can throw at them.
One place to take cover when that weather decides to do its thing is a garden arbor. A garden arbor is often a stand alone structure that acts as a focal point in your garden. Like all our structures, we can provide a bespoke design and installation service or provide all the green oak you need to create your own perfect arbour on site.
